How to Reconstitute Peptides
Reconstitution is the process of adding bacteriostatic water (BAC water) to a lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powder to create an injectable solution. Getting the right concentration is critical for accurate dosing.
Step-by-Step Process
- Clean the vial tops with an alcohol swab and let dry
- Draw bacteriostatic water into a syringe (the amount calculated above)
- Inject slowly down the side of the peptide vial — never spray directly onto the powder
- Gently swirl the vial until the powder dissolves — do not shake
- Store refrigerated at 36-46°F (2-8°C) after reconstitution
Important Safety Notes
- Always use bacteriostatic water (BAC water), not sterile water, for multi-dose vials
- Reconstituted peptides are typically stable for 28-30 days refrigerated
- Use insulin syringes (U-100) for accurate measurement
